Friday, August 30 @ 5:15 – Sunday September 1 @ 2pm

Camping, hiking, beaching, making and playing on a monkey bridge, kayaking and many other things

Birch Bay State Park, Blaine Washington. 100 miles north of Kirkland
Directions to get there

Where do we meet

RHPC, 5:15 p.m. sharp so we can pack the gear and get out by 5:30 p.m.

Friday we will drive up to the park and put up tents. We have a group site reserved (it is a good one — we are right on the creek and can see the beach from our site). Saturday and Sunday we will whatever the scouts want.

Friday night we will have a "game night" so feel free to bring games to play…

There are some nice hikes. We can dl a 5 mile. We can do a compass hike. We can do a plant identification hike (First Class). We can do animal identification of land and marine(Second class)

Second Class requirement. First Class requirement (need to coordinate with Mr. Ricard ahead of time). But good food!

Monkey Bridge. Make other structures. Learn/practice splicing (pioneering merit badge requirement)

Great beach for walking, digging, relaxing, exploring (tide goes out 1/4 mile)

Will have three kayaks and PFDs. Can kayak both creek and ocean easily. If anyone has more kayaks, please bring!

And there are lots of other things to do!

Family friendly

Also this is a unique situation. IF any parents want to come but are not excited about tenting, we have a condo 1 mile away with beds to sleep in. My wife would LOVE people to come and sleep there!

Essentials to bring:

Usual gear for mixed weather camping

Will discuss details including menus and tents at the meetings.
