Precamporee 2013

Friday April 12, 2013 - Saturday April 13, 2013

Overnight to prepare troop for skills needed for camporee, sign off for Tenderfoot, 2nd Class and 1st Class requirements, and have fun.

Camp Pigott, 24225 Woods Creek Road Snohomish, WA 98290

Where do we meet

RHPC, 5:30 p.m. sharp so we can pack the gear and get out by 5:45 p.m.

Skills covered (In preparation for Camperee the District competition in June):

  • Navigation (map and compass)
  • Pioneering (knots and lashings)
  • First Aid
  • Camping Skills (pitching tent, fire making, stoves, and cooking)
  • 10 Essentials (We will go over list of required items)
  • Nature(Plants and Animals)

Scouts need to eat Friday night before arriving at church. Prepare for variable weather. It is early spring, which means we can get anything from wet and cold to sunny and warm. We will discuss equipment at the Scout meeting. We will have a covered area to sleep in.
All scouts should attend. The younger scouts get a chance to learn their skills and the older scouts can improve theirs as well as have the opportunity to teach the younger scouts. And best of all, it will be an enjoyable time with campfire and capture-the-flag.
Please return signed form by April 11 and email confirmation by April 4th.
